Energy Rebates

Many businesses throughout the U.K. are now entitled to a refund from their energy suppliers due to the amount of VAT and CCL (climate change levy) being charges on their bills.

The reason for this is U.K. businesses are charged 20% VAT and CCL (climate change levy) on their energy bills which combined adds around 25% to every bill you receive.

In many cases businesses should only be charged at a domestic rate of 5% VAT and no CCL (climate change levy) on some or all of their commercial energy use if they are using some or all of their energy for domestic, self-catering or charitable use.

These refunds can be as much as 20% of all the money your supplier has charged you over the last 4 years and we can still make a claim even if you are no longer a customer, providing you were a customer within the last 4 years. In most cases this refund amounts to thousands of pounds and in this economic climate every penny counts.

On top of this refund you would also receive up to a 20% reduction on all future bills.

So far we have a 100% success rate but the amount of time it takes to complete a claim does differ between suppliers. It can take up to 8 week to receive a refund but Most of our clients receive a Refund within 10 working days of the documentation being returned.

Qualifying criteria

There are only three questions that need answered to check if your business qualifies for a refund.

• Do you live on the premises or does anyone else live on the premises on a self-catering basis?(if your business is a caravan park, residential home, care home, etc. you will automatically qualify for a refund if you are paying full VAT)

• Are you currently paying 20% VAT on your gas and/or electricity bills?

• Do you have one gas meter and/or one electricity meter on the premises?

If you have answered yes to all three questions above your business does qualify for a refund.

Charges

All of our services are provided on a NO WIN – NO FEE basis and with no minimum cost, but we do charge the customer 20% of the full amount re-credited to their energy accounts. We do not charge the customer one penny for any future savings they receive from this service and if we are unsuccessful with your claim their will be no charge.

Starting Your Claim

For commercialrefunds.com to start your claim, we will need a small amount of information from you. Which is as follows.

• The name of each energy supplier that has supplied you within the last 4 years and whether it was for gas or electricity.

• Your Business name, address, post code and telephone number.

• The full name of the energy account holder.

This is all the information we need to start your claim.

What happens next?

Once we have all the information we need from you we will complete all the necessary paperwork and send it to you by post. The paperwork will consist of an agreement which explains everything we are going to do on your behalf and the amount we charge, one VAT and CCL form for each energy account and one letter of authority so we can contact the suppliers on your behalf.

All of the paperwork mentioned, then needs signed and returned to ourselves in the pre-paid envelope provided for us to proceed. We also require a copy or a photocopy of one bill for each energy account we are claiming for (all bills will be returned by post as soon as we have completed your claim).

The reason for this is to check everything has been completed correctly and is also used to help us through the security checks most suppliers have in place. Once we have received the documentation from yourself, we will deal with everything else on your behalf and the next time we contact you it will be to tell you how much has been re-credited to your energy account.

Once we know how much you have received we will then send you an invoice. It is as simple as that.
